The more you concern yourself with YOU, you’re in a place called SELF CHERISHING.
Now, nothing would be wrong with concerning yourself with yourself IF, AND ONLY IF, you’d give the same concern towards others. That’s a place of CHERISHING OTHERS.
We have to learn the balance of SELF LOVE AND LOVING OTHERS. And we need to understand that OTHERS DESERVE THEIR WISHES TO COME TRUE THE SAME WAY YOURS DO. We need to allow OTHERS TO FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME FEELINGS WE DO.
Are you sad? So is your ‘enemy’. Are you angry? So are they. Are you misunderstood? So are they.
Do you deserve to be heard and respected? So does your ‘enemy’. Do you deserve to be understood and loved? So do they…
Experiment time:
Get 2 pots and pebbles. Each time you think of yourself and how to get something for yourself, the pebble goes into the SELF Pot. Each time you think of helping others, wishing others well, understanding those who might have hurt you, the pebble goes into the OTHERS pot.
You’ll be surprised how empty the OTHERS pot will appear. But you will also feel great each time the OTHERS pot wins.
P.S. You only gave as much as you can, anything that is stretching your self-love threshold will lead you to regret.
